Welcome to Computational & Applied Geology Lab!

The Computational & Applied Geology Lab studies the properties of and processes in rocks as related to geophysical exploration, borehole processes and geological engineering.

¡¡

  Our mission has two folds:

(1)  to conduct fundamental researches on physical properties of the Earth's solids and fluids and their interrelations to explore the non-linear and transient processes of the evolving Earth, and

(2)  to integrate and applied the fundamental knowledge to many geophysical and engineering problems, such as exploration and development of underground resources, pollutant remediation, and subsurface exploration.
¡¡

Our strength of physical property modeling lies in the computational capabilities with pore-scale models (fine scale down to micron), on which most physical property of rocks depend. We use multiphysics pore-scale simulations to model the evolution of the Earth materials in parallel to laboratory experiments.

We are located in the department of Geoenvironmental Sciences, Kongju National University.  Please see relevant maps and details.
